i just watched the Singapore Idol Results Show.. i'm no a huge fan of S.I but i kinda catch it on tv once in awhile if it happens to be on air when i switch on my tv.. omg.. was i pissed.. it once again showed how singapore audiences' heads are only filled with coconut water.. they threw out matilda, apparently the contestant with the strongest voice in the competition.. and they kept that disgusting joakim.. dots.. i begin to wonder what singaporeans are thinking..
matilda though she's not some hot babe or anything, she has the voice to make up for it.. yes.. as what ken said, she might not have the x-factor, but what the heck.. her voice is strong and her performance on stage is pretty good.. joakim on the other hand, sometimes it's unbearable to watch him on stage.. in simple terms, he cant sing for nuts.. he cant hold his tune, pitch and every other thing.. he jus sound like any typical singaporean going to kbox.. another thing, he looks like a monkey on stage.. forever jumping around, making himself look so ridiculous.. and to think he is still in the competition thus far.. staying in top 6.. singaporeans are both deaf and blind..
i begin to think that singapore audiences do not have their own sense of taste.. they just follow the crowd.. if the singer looks good, it doesnt matter if he sound like some chicken with throat infection.. all the girls will love him.. that is so incredibly shallow.. worse, sometimes the singer dont even look good, cant sing, zero charisma and cant perform (in the case of joakim), we wonder why the girls just love him.. what happen to the word 'talent'? in the music industry, isnt able to sing well the first priority? so now the world have shift their focus to looking like a fool an 'in' thing? if that's the case, i dont wish to be part of that ridiculous and shallow world..
another thing i dont understand, why does singaporeans not support the local music scene? i dont think we're that bad.. if we have talents like stefanie sun, tanya chua, jj and electrico, this means we aint that bad afterall.. furthermore, i heard and seen worse artistes.. for example, f4, 5566 and all that kind of crappy voices.. i shall not start with the 183 club that i saw on tv the other day.. they scare me.. ya.. and all that kind of 'kawaii' girl groups that are emerging..
however, local artistes will never make it big unless they make it big somewhere else first.. like in the case of stefanie sun and jj.. apparently they had to make it big in taiwan before they were accepted in singapore.. how ridiculous is this man.. singaporeans dont even support their own people.. and they complain that the local music scene is not good enough.. that's because the people dont even support them to begin with.. without sufficient funds and support, how do u expect the local artistes to survive? just think of the number of albums u have at home.. how many are overseas artistes and how many are local artistes..
oh.. sorry for the extremely long post.. i just need to complain.. singapore has too many airheads..
