Alright.. I shall continue where I left off yesterday. I got more pictures from my friends already! Yeah! I still need my own camera though.. Sian..
I actually went to Chungju, Daejeon before I went to Jeju Island. But I've still yet to get the Chungju pictures so I shall post about the Jeju trip first. =)
We took a domestic flight there. It was definitely one of the most turbulent flights I've ever taken. Still nothing beats SQ, especially first class. Heh!
Wanted to rent a car to drive around Jeju since their transport system there isnt the most efficient. But we didnt have an international license so.. we hired a driver instead. He was a really nice guy and I seriously liked him, cant say the same about the rest of my friends though. They seem to keep thinking that he was out to cheat our money, but I thought he was just trying to be nice. We paid a really low fee somore. Mr. Moon and I managed to communicate pretty well since he could speak Japanese. His japanese was better than mine yeah.
Went to some Halim Park that was quite disappointing. Apparently it would have been exciting for most people, but it was definitely ordinary for us. Cause it was a like a tropical park, featuring all the tropical fruits and plants. Too bad they had no durians, I was craving for it.
O'Sulloc was next. It's a green tea plantation. Can you imagine my excitement/ I'm such a green tea fan! I love green tea stuff. =) Really happy that I get to visit a tea plantation at least once in my life, man. Had some fabulous green tea ice cream!
We visited alot of mountains and cliffs and all that sort of landforms. I dont even remember the names of those places anymore. But they were spectacular! You will only see those things on geography textbooks in Singapore. But I saw them up close. Jealous? Heh.
I love those cliffs, waterfalls and streams. I told myself that I need to visit New Zealand again to see all those spectacular landscapes. Well, I've seen them now at Jeju. But I'm still going to New Zealand though. =) I'm still secretly a geography student at heart. I didnt get the A1 for nothing k.
The streams and rivers were definitely my favourite. I love playing in those cold, clean water. I wouldnt mind jumping in and swim around if I had my swimsuit on and I was alone. It's like those fairytales where people live in cottages right next to a waterfall or stream. How beautiful and calming! Arhhh..
We went to some caves. One limestone cave and a lava cave. Damn fucking cold ah. We were almost running in those caves to try to get to the exit asap. But they were beautiful. I wouldnt mind staying in there longer if I had more clothes on. It's like natural aircon, man.
Woke up at 4am on the last day in Jeju, just to climb some mountain to watch the sunrise. It's the Seongsan Sunrise Peak. I think all of us wanted to die. Managed to climb up to the peak though we were sleepy, and it bloody RAINED. DAMNIT!!!!! But we persevered and stayed on, hoping that the sunrise wont disappoint us. The fucking clouds covered the whole sunrise so we didnt see a damn thing. FREAK! Well, honestly, it wasnt a totally wasted trip. We got to see the crater at the top of the peak and got to know this nice Canadian guy who was teaching in Korea and happened to be holidaying in Jeju for the summer. It's really quite rare that you find someone who can actually speak your language here. So it was quite a happy moment for me. I know it's lame.
